The market is named in honor of the market owner's favorite song, Fish and Whistle (John Prine), and as a nod to the prime ocean-front location and beach-friendly treats and snacks to be sold. The Woman-owned Fish & Whistle Market is a gourmet food market serving Ventnor beach-goers snacks, sandwiches, charcuterie, and other provisions. As a conjoined business with Wahine Wine Company, the owner desired identities that would complement one another as sister stores. However, the names and branding for the two businesses needed to be distinct (per NJ regulations). Using a connected color palette and style dark accents and developing equivalent logo stamps for each business, we were able to achieve two separate enough, yet visually related brand identities.
